Philip Smith’s work first appeared in the prescient PICTURES exhibition curated by Douglas Crimp. He has participated in the Whitney and Beijing Biennials. Smith’s work is in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, and the Allen Museum of Oberlin College, among many others.
